Job description

Duties may include: Control farm equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, harvest crops. Haul agricultural materials to and from farms. (Hauling may be conducted by semi-trucks. The employees will drive various semi-trucks that weigh less than 26,000 pounds. The duties will only consist of transporting crops harvested by the employer relatively short distances off the farm in order to be transported to market. No weigh stations will need to be crossed and the routes will be exclusively within the State of Montana where no CDL is required for the type of hauling. Typically, the drivers will transport harvested commodities from the crop fields to the nearby facility. No CDL requirement.
Crops being hauled are solely owned by the employer and will be going to employer owned/operated locations. May perform tasks such as preparing soil and planting corn, milo, or soybeans, crop bailing or hay bucking , chop silage. May perform walk around inspection check on equipment, wash, clean, maintain equipment, heavy machinery, fences, grounds and area & other related Agricultural Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 due to equipment use. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 65lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Possible background check pre-hire at employer's expense. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid U.S. Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work.
