Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties of a Custom Harvester found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator as well as duties under SOC Code 53-3032 Heavy Tractor and Trailer Truck Drivers such as and not limited to: Operate self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops such as wheat, corn, milo, soybeans; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery including threshing and guidance settings; Perform safety checks on equipment; Operate equipment such as augers, grain carts, fuel/service trailers; Attach using hand tools; Clean and maintain equipment and work areas; Blow out air filters, top off fluid such as oil and coolant, air tires, grease fittings; Drive tractor with grain cart for tendering crops, and drive truck with hopper bottom trailer for transporting crops from fields over surfaced (rock, dirt, pavement, etc.) rural roads to storage areas such as elevators, bins, bags, silos; Drive truck to haul harvesting machinery along the itinerary; Record information about crops such as yields, moisture content, foreign material; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage of crops
Special Requirements
Six (6) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain following hire appropriate CDL and obtain clean driving record to drive trucks. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
