Job description
Francisco Armendariz, DBA Armendariz Farms, LLC, is petitioning for one (1) H-2A worker to meet the ‘seasonal' need of seeding, soil maintenance and harvesting of Cotton. The worker will operate tractor, forklift, and rotary till, and perform minor maintenance of tractor, forklift, tiller, and trailer. Engage in seeding sand fighting, soil maintenance, row crop cleaning, removing non-performing plants, and harvesting. The worker will show a willingness to learn and be team-oriented. Workers will need to be able to work outside in high and/or freezing temperatures. Physical requirements included but are not limited to being physically able to lift 60 lbs., stand and walk for long periods of time in the fields, stoop/bend repeatedly, and engage in repetitive movements.
Job Duties include but are not limited to planting, preventing soil erosion and harvesting crops. 90% of the worker's time will be spent planting and maintaining soil and harvesting cotton. 10% of the worker's duties would include operating and servicing farm machinery, fences, and farm facilities.
Crop Management:
March - June: soil preparation and seeding.
July - September: Sand fighting and using a rotary hoe to prevent soil and wind damage to cotton; plowing for weed control.
September - December: Depending on rainfall, cotton is harvested.
Equipment used to perform job duties includes, but is not limited to, clippers, hoe, spade, pliers, wrench, screwdriver, cutting knife, gloves, tractor, hand truck, tiller, trailer, and forklift. The employer provides all equipment and tools used to perform row crop duties.

Work Rules
1. Per the DOL, the Employer will reimburse the Worker for inbound travel, sustenance, or other DOL-allowable expenses only upon the Worker completing 50% of the contract.
2. Workers must perform their assigned work carefully and work in accordance with the provisions of the work contract. Sloppy work will not be tolerated.
3. Workers must report at the assigned time and place each workday as directed by the Employer or Employers representatives.
4. Workers may not take unauthorized breaks from work. Should the Worker need a break, he/she will immediately contact the Employer or Employers representative.
5. Workers may not leave an assigned work area without the permission of the Employer or Employers representative.
6. Workers may not enter the Employer's premises without authorization.
