Job description

Workers will operate agricultural equipment used in the field in connection with growing, planting, harvesting, and hauling vegetable crops. Workers will operate tractors and other farm machinery used in the field to prepare the ground for agricultural activity, fertilize soil, and cultivate and harvest crops. Workers will load and unload crops or containers of materials in or around the field; drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities in the field; haul crops or supplies; operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production used in the field; and observe and service farm equipment used in the field. Workers may perform other field operations tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2091. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Frequent turning, pushing, and pulling is required. Operating agricultural vehicles or equipment for substantial time periods (up to a full shift) is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate agricultural equipment is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required. Ability and licensure to drive is required.

Special Requirements

Workers must have 60 days verifiable experience performing the job duties under Section A(8)(a). The work schedule under Section A(6) may be subject to change where weather, crops, or business needs demand. Work assignments, crew assignments, and assigned work tasks are at the sole discretion of the employer. For purposes of meeting the guarantee, workers will not be required to work more than the number of hours specified in this job order or on their Sabbath or Federal holidays. Workers must comply with the employers work rules and housing rules, which are set forth in full in this job order. Workers must comply with the employers personnel policies, including but not limited to its policies regarding safety, harassment/discrimination, abusive conduct, and drugs and alcohol. Workers must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions and directives. The employer reserves all management prerogatives not inconsistent with applicable law.
