Job description
Crops/Commodities:
Irrigation of diversified crops and farmland.
In general, work will include, but will not be limited to: physical assistance and manual labor associated with irrigation system installation, setup, and operation.
Workers will perform manual tasks involved with installation, servicing, and tending of agricultural irrigation equipment on farms for the irrigation of crops including, but not limited to rice, soybeans, cotton, and corn.
When necessary, routine shop duties related to routine equipment maintenance, washing of equipment, and grounds maintenance will be performed.
Must be able to perform all tasks safely and complete the tasks efficiently.
Work is done in the field for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from 10 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations.
Employer-paid post-hire drug testing is required upon reasonable suspicion of use and after a worker has an accident at work.
Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may drive company pick-up trucks. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctor's certificate may transport other workers in pick-up trucks only.
Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a proficient manner without close supervision.
Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer.
Employer attests that it has sent (or will promptly send) original surety bond to CNPC.
Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break.
TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies. Employer may terminate a worker for cause if the worker's performance consistently and/or substantially fails to satisfy the employer's reasonable expectations (in accordance with the criteria set forth herein), or otherwise engages in serious or egregious misconduct that endangers health, safety, or property.
Special Requirements
This job requires a minimum of 3 months of work experience handling mechanized tasks associated with the installation, repair and servicing of agricultural irrigation equipment. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. All work activities are performed on-site at the farm location(s). Saturday work required. Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing required.
