Job description
Hand Harvesting Jalapenos: Workers will walk and cut quality ripe jalapenos in 5/8-bushel buckets and load in the field buses. This operation consists of lifting and handling heavy buckets filled with jalapeno peppers all day long. One guy will catch the 5/8-bushel buckets in the bus, until the bus is full. Once the bus is full the same steps will repeat again. Workers will then go pack the jalapeno peppers harvested into boxes ready to ship at the packing shed. Only quality USDA-grade jalapenos owned by the farmer will be packed. The rest will be discarded. Workers are required to lift at least 75 pounds as the chep blue pallets needed to be placed under the box can weight up to 75 pounds.
