Job description

NORTH CAROLINA HARVESTING LLC.FLC, (6) Temporary Agricultural Workers for North Carolina in (Lee Counties) from Mar-25-2025 to Nov-10-2025. Planting Sweet Potatoes, Harvesting Sweet Potatoes; Planting, setting Tobacco, topping and Tobacco suckers; Harvesting Strawberry, Harvesting Watermelon. Workers will also be harvested by hand, pulling weeds, raking, clearing up rows where plantings are, and equipment operations on the farm. Topping the Tobacco suckering must begin as soon as the uppermost reapable leaf is of such a size that the topping operation will not damage it. When time to harvest, we will harvest by hand and by machine. Workers will harvest sweet potato and place it in 5/8 buckets. The job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather. Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Able to lift and carry 75 pounds repetitively throughout the workday. The use or possession or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during working time is prohibited. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol testing at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Requires 1 month of verifiable work experience in manual harvesting. $0.60 per 5/8 Bucket or equivalent(Sweet Potato), $16.16 per hour (Tobacco, Sweet Potato, Strawberries, and Watermelons). Guaranteed $16.16 per hour. 35 hours a week. Will Provide daily transportation round trips to and from housing to the work-site location, at no cost to the workers. Housing is provided at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return their residency daily. The employer provides the tools at no cost to workers. 3/4 scheduled working hours guaranteed. Transport/subsistence reimbursed for the costs incurred by reporting to the workplace if the worker completes half the period of employment. Return Transportation Refunded if the worker terminates the contract. The employer understands that the Fair Labor Standards Act applies independently of the H-2A requirements and imposes. Obligations on employers regarding payment of wages. 20 CFR 655.122(h)(1). In the event a female worker is hired, the employer will provide separate sleeping, bathing, and toilet facilities for male and female workers. Must be 18 years old.
