Job description

Temporary, seasonal workers for rice, cattle and hay farm. Job duties include tractor, equipment and truck driving; field prep; water maintenance; fertilize, plant and harvest crops; manual shovel work; hoe weeds; spot spray; repair and maintain bins, equip., farm and fences; maintain field levees, roads and shop; load and unload trucks; repair and maintain barn, corrals, equip, farm, fences, fields, pastures, roads, shed, shop and water troughs; travel between worksites required; allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray and related chemicals may affect workers' ability to perform job; job involves frequent stooping and exposure to extreme temps; must be able to lift/carry 70 lbs.; random drug screening upon hire (paid for by Employer); minimum three months experience in similar occupation; valid driver's license required. Daily work schedule includes 1 unpaid lunch hour. Base hours offered is 40 hours offered; overtime hours are usually offered during plentiful season and may include an additional 10-40 hours of overtime work depending on the nature of the season; higher wage may be paid based on experience.

Special Requirements

Three months of farmworker experience required. Bend, reach, push, pull, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time. Lift and carry 70 lbs. Walk, stoop, or kneel when completing various farm tasks. Work in extremely hot, cold and/or wet weather. Must be 18 years or older. Hazardous occupation. Employer is a drug free workplace. Drug testing is conducted under suspicion, at random and post-accident at the employer's expense and is not part of the interview process.
