Job description
Shuttle Driver + Agricultural Equipment Operator: Drive a motor vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more over the road to transport farm workers on a planned or scheduled basis as directed by the employer or supervisor. Driver may pick up workers from different housing sites or pick up points and take them to assigned work site, transit between work sites, and return workers back to the housing site or pick up point at the end of the work day. Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting. Between transporting farmworkers at the beginning and end of the work day, the shuttle driver will drive trucks used to collect harvested crops in and around fields and haul farm products on public roads between the farmer’s fields and the farmer’s packing or storage shed. Make trips to grocery stores, laundromat, airport, and governmental agencies, medical and dental offices. Must abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maintain logs of working hours following all applicable state and federal regulations. Employer assures that driver will be paid the offered wage rate for actual driving time, including but not limited to trips to fuel vehicle and time spent maintaining the vehicle.

Special Requirements
Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All testing will occur post-hire and is not a part of the interview process. Negative result may be required post-hire and before commencing work. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Use of cell phone or other personal electronic device while driving strictly prohibited by law and violation may result in immediate termination. Must commit to entire anticipated period of employment. Requires valid commercial drivers license issued by a U.S. state or foreign equivalent with passenger endorsement. Must be at least 23 years of age. Must obtain a DOT medical examiners certificate before commencing work. Requires 12 months CDL driving history.
