Job description
The bartender is responsible for the preparation of alcoholic drinks for guests in all F & B venues including during banquet functions. Duties include: Responsible for making sure the bar is fully stocked and cleaned at all times; Wash all bar glasses; Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, and water to prepare cocktails and other drinks; Set and clean up banquet bars; Take food and beverage orders from tables if there is not a cocktail server scheduled; Must keep beer cooler and can barn clean; Must adhere to guest ID card policies; May engage in other incidental and related duties; Must pass TIPS certification training; Has knowledge of all food and beverage items offered on the menu; Adhere to all appearance and personal hygiene rules and regulations; Practice good guest relations through knowledge of the resort and local area; Responsible for all guest checks, paperwork, and balancing the bank at the end of a shift; Must be trained in Shanty Creek Resorts standards of service before working on the floor; Advise the Floor Manager of complaints and/or problems; Must have a positive attitude and be efficient in guest satisfaction; Take reservations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while the dining room is closed.
Special Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old.
Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This is a tipped position so wait staff will earn the greater of $8.00 ($12.00/hr OT) per hour plus tips or the wage set forth above whichever is greater.
The days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling and the level of business at the resort but will generally be 5 days per week with rotating days off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm approximately 40 hours per week with some overtime. The business is open 7 days per week and weekend and holiday work will be required. Pre-employment background check at no cost to the applicant is required.
