Job description

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor, hand harvest of bell peppers, specialty peppers, eggplant, squash, broccoli, tomatoes, and strawberries. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.
Worker is required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: seed and plant; train, tie, and stake plants; remove weeds; install, operate, repair, and maintain irrigation systems; remove stakes and string; lay plastic; remove plastic and drip tape; general farm maintenance and clean up; drive and operate forklift, tractor, equipment, or other farm vehicle on farm property and to transport on roads between fields; pesticide application; perform maintenance and minor repairs on tractors, trucks and other agricultural equipment; drive Employer-provided vehicle to other locations as directed; harvest to quality standards peppers, eggplant, summer squash, zucchini, winter squash, broccoli, tomatoes and strawberries; packing activities, including packing to quality standards, set-up, preparation, minor repair and maintenance for Employer produce only.
Pay will be hourly and/or piece rate depending on the activity.

Special Requirements

Experience Requirement: 2 verifiable months of commercial agricultural hand harvest experience in vegetable or fruit fields. Applicants must furnish job references from employers within the last 7 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for and worker agrees to work every day that work is available for entire employment period.

Drug testing may be required if worker is involved in workplace injury resulting in damage to property or injury to others. Worker agrees to testing as a condition of employment. Testing done at employers expense and not utilized as a pre-employment tool.
