Job description

1. Retrieve and assemble Carnival rides - Basic hand tools such as wrench, screwdriver and pliers
2. Manually clean with dish soap, hand towels and scrub brush
3. Maintain Carnival rides - Manually oil equipment parts with WD-40 and adjust bolts and R keys with wrench, screwdriver and pliers.
4. Serve pre-packaged and ready-made food and beverages including, but not limited to: popcorn, cotton candy, soft drinks and slushies.
Frying food such as: french fries and pretzels; grilling food such as hot dogs and hamburgers.

May include but not limited to:
- Sell tickets and collect fees from customers.
- Provide information about facilities, entertainment options, and rules and regulations.
- Keep informed of shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Direct patrons to rides, seats, or attractions.
- Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures, or arrange for the removal of unruly patrons.
- Record details of attendance, sales, receipts, reservations, or repair activities.
- Maintain inventories of equipment, storing and retrieving items and assembling and disassembling equipment as necessary.
- Tend amusement booths in parks, carnivals, or stadiums, performing duties, such as conducting games, photographing patrons, or awarding prizes.
- Provide assistance to patrons entering or exiting amusement rides.
- Clean sporting equipment, vehicles, rides, booths, facilities, or grounds.
- Inspect equipment to detect wear and damage and perform minor repairs, adjustments, or maintenance
tasks, such as oiling parts.
- Verify, collect, or punch tickets before admitting patrons to venues
- Fasten safety devices for patrons, or provide them with directions for fastening devices.
- Announce or describe amusement park attractions to patrons to entice customers to games and other entertainment.
- Sell and serve ready-made refreshments to customers.
Special Requirements
- Must be willing and able to travel every 2-3 days.
- If staying in employer-provided housing, must be willing and able to tolerate sleeping in trailer bunks reduced to 50 square feet of space per person with minimal cooking facilities.
- Must be available entire contract period.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to perform physical labor.
- May conduct post-hire, employer-paid drug testing.
- Schedule varies (days of the week and shift times). Additional hours may be offered. May be required to work weekends.
- Itinerary starts in Travis County, Texas.
- Work will be performed at various locations (see list of all counties included in itinerary for reference).
- Periodic daily or weekly travel.
-Itinerary subject to change depending on weather and external factors.
- Hourly wage is dependent upon location. See Appendix A for details.
- Additional hours may be offered above 40; however, employer is exempt from federal overtime pay according to Section 13(a)(3) of the FLSA. Employer will comply with any state or local overtime requirements if warranted.
- Employer will pay the highest of all prevailing wages for each worksite location throughout the entire period of employment.
- Employer may offer a raise or bonus depending on experience and merit.
- Daily transportation provided to all worksite locations along itinerary.
- Employer provides optional mobile housing to workers along the itinerary.
- Deduction: Optional housing and transportation provided free of charge.
