Job description
Crops: Apples, Cherries, Orchard crops, Peaches, Pumpkin/gourds, Pumpkins, Squashes, Stone fruits, Strawberries, Tomatillos, Tomatoes, Vegetables, Zucchini, Corn, Blueberries, Hard squashes, Pome fruits, Peppers
Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: plant, transplant, thin, prune, trim, train, tie, stake, and other general care of crops; establish new orchards and crop areas; general farm, field, and grounds maintenance and clean-up; remove weeds; paint tree trunks; install and maintain irrigation system; install and maintain trellis system; install and maintain plastic mulch and drip tape retrieval; apply pheromones in orchards; operate tractors; drive vehicles to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farmworkers; remove old string and wire from trellis and orchard blocks; repair and maintain farm buildings, fences, and other structures, repair apple bins; clean, sanitize and maintain farm tools, equipment and bins; hand harvest to quality standards apples, cherries, hot peppers, peaches, round tomato, tomatillo, corn, strawberries, blueberries, and cucurbits; grade and sort employer product only to quality standards in the fields or orchards. Pay will be hourly.
Special Requirements
3 verifiable months of commercial hand harvest experience of vegetable or tree fruit required. Applicants must furnish job references from recent employers within the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Must be able to lift/carry a minimum 60 lbs. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.
Drug test conducted at employer's expense and not utilized as pre-employment tool. Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid random, upon suspicion, and/or post-accident drug testing in accordance with state law. Any employee who declines to take or fails a drug test will be immediately terminated.
