Job description

Our average growing season begins in April with wheat harvest generally starting in the beginning of August and bean harvest is in September, and Corn harvest is usually October and November. We need seasonal employees to assist with all aspects of raising these crops. Employees will need to operate farm equipment to plant, cultivate, harvest and haul corn, wheat, beans, barley and soybeans.

Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, seed drills, operate other farm equipment, plant trees, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, record agricultural data, drive farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Special Requirements

Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background as required by the workplace safety policy and company hiring practices as allowed by law. Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, frequent stooping or bending over. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
