Job description

Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Herd livestock to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Maintain heated watering system. Maintain equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Move equipment or livestock from one location to another, manually or using trucks or carts. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Mix feed, additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock. Keep feeding area free of debris and manure. Operate snow removal equipment in order to operate feed wagons. Remove ice formed in water. Processing calves as they come into the feedlot. Keep feeding area free of debris and manure. Reading ration sheets. Operate feed truck, feed wagon, loader tractor, pay-loader, skid steer, and box scrapper. Maintain feeding and cost records.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion.
