Job description
Job duties include preparing meals only for agricultural workers involved in sugarcane harvest, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner for approximately 165 employees; prep kitchen; clean-up; prepare food lists and shop for needed food supplies for worker meals; create menu; consider workers' tastes and specific food requests and tailor the menu accordingly, when feasible; work within the allotted food budget; keep kitchen inventory; special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions served; rotate and store food supplies; wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and/or other cooking equipment; apportion and serve food to employees; work schedule is a split shift; hours are 5:00AM to 8:00AM and 4:00PM to 8:00PM, Monday - Sunday (7 days a week). The meal cook will also have some occasional grocery shopping duties during the mid-day hours. Three months previous experience of meal preparing/cooking; repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift/carry sufficient weight (approximately 50 pounds) to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. The Employer will rely on workers own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification. Drug screening may be required upon hire and randomly (paid for by employer). Bonus may be paid at the end of contract at the discretion of the employer. Base hours offered is 49 hours; additional hours are usually offered during a busy season and may include an additional 10-40 hours of work.

Special Requirements
Drug screening may be required post hire and randomly (paid for by Employer), due to the close proximity to large cooking equipment and implements, and the day-to-day handling of food.
