Job description
Workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Workers will operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Workers will unload materials, clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, aluminum wall forms, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. Workers will tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment. Workers will lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Workers will signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Workers will measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Workers will position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes. Workers will smooth or finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools. Workers will also position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Additionally, workers will ensure worksite grounds are clear of snow and ice before beginning work due to winter temperatures.
Special Requirements
Must have at least one (1) month of aluminum wall-form setting experience or related required experience. Must be able to lift and carry 75lbs./75yds. Employer reserves the right after employment to ask any employee at the employer's expense to take a blood or urine test to determine whether he/she is under the influence of controlled substances, illegal drugs or alcohol. If employee fails drug test, he/she will be subject to termination.
