Employee will use kitchen and oven trays and pans to transport, store, stock and display finished products, both in refrigerated and heated storage areas like under heat lamps, refrigerators, freezers, and display counters, both refrigerated and non-refrigerated areas.

Product Description:
Finished Product: High quality ethnic meals, prepackaged food items like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. Bottled drinks and water, sauces and other condiments like hot sauce, salsa, melted cheese, etc.
Inventory items: restock will be all types of product ingredients like, fresh produce, dairy products, meats and cheeses, eggs, water and other soft drinks. Paper goods will also be part of inventory and would need to be restocked often.
Health and Safety guidelines involved:
Given that food items will be stored and sold Farmers Market Assistants must abide by Health Department rules and standards regarding food handling and storage, for both finished and raw foodstuff. These include but are not limited to temperature controls on refrigerators, heat lamps and other storage areas, must be able to follow directions related to dating and tracking and container labeling with food expiration dates, cleanliness of food prep and storage areas, use of cleaning products and their proper storage and labeling, etc.
Tools Used:
Food Preparation: knives, cutting boards, manual juicer, hot plates, refrigerated display cases, blender, kitchen and oven trays, pots and pans.
Paper Products: plastic or Styrofoam containers, plastic silverware, napkins, table disinfectant.
Cart / Stall: tables, cash register, display cases, pens and paper.
Cleaning: mops, brooms, mop bucket, vacuum cleaner, rags, disinfectant solutions and cleaners, dusters.
Description of End of Day Activities:
At the end of the workday FMA must store all finish food products and raw materials in appropriate location (refrigerator, freezer or other dry storage), must clean and disinfect food prep areas with proper disinfectant solution, using sponges, cleaning rags, floors must be swept and mopped. Stalls or carts must be properly closed and secured.
Market Set Up
Includes activities related to opening the cart or stall area, cleaning display areas, turning on equipment, attractively display of food items for sale, set up cash register, ensure change levels in register, etc.

Duties include: Setting up and displaying products for sale at market; interacting with customers, providing information about products, and making sales; maintaining a clean and attractive stall; handling transactions and managing cash or credit payments; restocking inventory and managing product supply throughout day; following health and safety guidelines and any other standard operating practices; packing up and cleaning stall area at end of day; assisting with market setup and tear down.

Special Requirements

Must have the ability to use tools associated with restaurant; must have valid driver's license; must be able to understand and follow instructions and safety rules. Basic literacy skills consistent with 6th grade reading, writing, and math.
