Job description

The General Farm Laborer will perform agricultural services including field preparation, removing rocks and volunteer corn/rogueing hoeing weed from seed corn production fields, bagging, seed conditioning, harvesting, husking, sorting, and drying seed, sweeping, cleaning, organizing of work area and farm bins, some light mechanical/repair work on field equipment and seed storage buildings, tractor/ farm related equipment operating, possible unloading or loading of trucks, general maintenance duties related to farm.

Workers must possess the physical strength and endurance for repetitive tasks such as being able to walk, bend, stoop and carry from 70-90 lbs. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, ability to get along with other workers. Knowing how to use the tools and equipment required. Clean workplace and equipment as required. Daily schedule is from Monday to Saturday from 7:00am to 2:30pm, 30 minutes lunch included.

Special Requirements

The worker will work specified hours per day depending upon the field's conditions, all kinds of weather, and crops maturity. To meet the guarantee, the worker won't be required to work on sabbath or federal holidays. Must be responsible and consistent on the job. Must be able to lift 70-90lbs, do repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, walking, frequent stooping throughout the day.
The name, address, and/or number of at least one reference who has first-hand knowledge and can verify the workers experience is required. The employer may terminate the worker contract if tests positive or fails to comply with the drug testing policy. Post-hire drug/alcohol testing is completed randomly unless the employer has reason to believe the worker is under the influence of substances while working. Post-hire drug test at no cost to the worker, u.s and guest workers will be screened equally.
