Job description

This application is for a farm equipment mechanic and service technician. The tasks requested are only performed during the winter months when crop farming has halted, and the machinery is no longer in use. Performs the following duties: Post and preseason inspections, maintenance, and winterization of 9 trucks, 13 tractors, 3 sprayers liquid applicators, 8 pickup/service trucks, 2 windrowers, 3 combines, 12 headers, row crop planter, 24 row 30" Wako strip tiller, 9 shank deep ripper, Case IH 330 turbo till, air seeder, augers and conveyors, 8 semi-trailers, wagons and carts. Disassemble parts of each row and put back together on planter and drills. Inspect/replace bearings, blades, brakes, belts, gear heads, air hoses, chains, tires, wheels, hydraulic lines and etc. Drain oil in gear boxes and replace with new oil. Apply grease and replace tires. Flush radiators. Change hydraulic filters, test oil. Spot weld cracks. Drive to town to pickup mechanical supplies.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 12 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles.
