Job description
Workers will be working in a feed mill, duties will include: Operate or tend equipment used in the milling of grains and mixing of feed rations for livestock such as grain roller mills, feed mixers, extruders, and pellet mills. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on milling and mixing machinery. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Use forklifts to load or unload grains, additives, feedstuffs, and prepared feed rations into or out of milling and mixing equipment, delivery vehicles, and customers’ vehicles. Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment, or fill containers from spouts or chutes. Read inventory records, customer orders, or shipping schedules to determine required activities. Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Weigh containers of grains, additives, feedstuffs, and prepared feed rations; and record weights and other identifying information. Transport packages to customers' vehicles. Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from farms. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles or equipment. Clean work areas and maintain grounds.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles.
