Job description
Workers will perform several manual tasks associated with cattle ranching. Duties will include all phases of managing livestock such as ear tagging, vaccinating, feeding, moving cattle from one pasture to another for grazing, sorting calves off mothers, calf care, and branding. Operate a variety of farm equipment, drive field truck in and around farm. Trimming trees and shrubs for wind breaks, cleaning shops and servicing all farm equipment. Work on watering systems. Move hay to/from barns and trucks to prepare to feed cattle during cold and dry times. Maintenance on fences. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping. The hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of the duties and weather it is the prevailing practice to work substantially more, less or different hours than those listed, sometimes for extended periods of time. When the number of hours for a week exceeds the number listed then, the worker may be offered, but not required, to work more hours. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on the weekend, a worker’s Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time.
