Job description
AEWR; US Workers: $15.67 and H-2A worker: $13.83.
Operate Claas and John Deere self-propelled, high horsepower harvesting machines to harvest a variety of grain and oilseed crops: adjust speed and settings of machinery using hand, pneumatic, and electric tools to make changes for appropriate crops; drive truck to transport crops from field to elevator or farm storage area and to haul harvesting machines between worksites; service machinery, and makes in field repairs; drive farm pickup; minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite; operate farm equipment including plows, shredders, planters, and wheat drills; load silage onto the truck and unload at pit; weigh in and weigh out at scales on the farm. While a CDL is not required for workers that operate or repair machinery, any worker that drives truck to transport products from fields to dairies and storage areas may possess one. All driving of all farm machinery and equipment will be in close proximity to the farm. Approximate staggered entry: 6 workers in January, 32 workers in July. The number of workers needed at each grower will fluctuate within the season based on weather and crop conditions.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
