Job description
Duties may include: Prepare soil and growth media for nursery stock to include but not limited to trees, shrubs, ground covers, annuals, perennials etc. on acreage, in nursery, greenhouses, fields, and sheds. Fill pots, seed, water, fertilize, and transplant for all nursery stock. Space plants/produce and containers on carts, trucks. Water, trim, and prune all plants as needed. Plant, water, fertilize, dig, rake, mow and trim on acreage, in nursery, greenhouses, and fields. Move all plant material from multiple locations. Workers may install product within 50-mile radius of the nursery. Install/maintain irrigation system on acreage, in nursery, greenhouses, fields, and sheds. Clean work areas and store materials. Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other crop protectants & other related Nursery Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate."
Possible weekend/holiday work.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years of age.Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer. Employees are expected to keep employer-provided vehicles clean and free of trash. Workers may not post or remove notices, signs, or other instructions from the employers bulletin boards or the employers property without specific authorization from the employer. Only workers may live in employer-provided housing unless other arrangements have been made with the employer. Employ
