Job description
AEWR; US Workers: SD: $13.19; H2A Workers: SD: $11.99.
Clean, repair, maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as combine, planter, rake, baler, swather to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as hay, soybeans, silage, corn; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Use augers and shovels to scoop and move crops; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attend to live farm animals such as cattle; Assist with live births; Feed and water livestock; Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures; Monitor animals for illness, injury, or disease; Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade using brands, tags; Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, or physical condition; Move equipment or livestock from one location to another; Must speak English.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
