Job description

Duties may include: Various beekeeping duties: Frequent hive colony inspections. Maintain healthy colonies for honey production and building new colonies. Rebuilding weak or damaged colonies. Splitting, reproducing, and growing new colonies with new queens. Spotting, caging and marking queen bees without damaging. Harvesting honey. Extracting honey. Building new hive equipment. Feed and medicate hives. Identify diseases and pests in colonies. Repairing hives. Building new hive equipment. May be able to work extended hours during peak of season. Must not be allergic to honey bees, honey, pollen or bee stings. Crops include:Honey. One hour lunch break offered. General maintenance of farm/equipment & other related Farmworker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years of age.Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer. Employees are expected to keep employer-provided vehicles clean and free of trash. Workers may not post or remove notices, signs, or other instructions from the employers bulletin boards or the employers property without specific authorization from the employer.
