Job description
Crops: Winter wheat, Corn, Sorghum
Assist with daily farm functions including but not limited to the following: operate various farm equipment (combines, tractors, trucks, etc.) for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing and harvesting of crops. Maintain/repair machinery. Maintain flood and sprinkler irrigation systems. Irrigating, Grain handling, hauling farm commodities. Maintain farm grounds/mow. Other miscellaneous duties assigned. Feed cows, as needed, This job involves manual labor, lifting, carrying, long days in the heat. Rain days are typically spent in the shop repairing equipment and preparing for the next days’ work.
Custom combine operators: This application is being filed pursuant to the regulations at 20 CFR 655.301 - 655.304 for Custom Combining. Employer will provide at no cost to workers an effective means of communicating with persons capable of responding to the workers needs in case of an emergency. Applicants must be available for the entire contract period. Applicants hired after the start date must be available to begin working where employer is currently located, and remain for duration of itinerary.
Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR § 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application.
Special Requirements
Specific requirements include lifting up to 60 pounds.
Workers are not permitted to be under the influence of intoxicants of any kind during working hours. All new employees are subject to a post-hire, employer-paid drug test. Any employee who declines to take or fails any drug test will be terminated and paid for all hours worked, if any.
Employer also reserves the right to drug test at random (in accordance with state law), upon suspicion and post-accident, at the employer's expense.
