Job description

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: plant, transplant, weed, trim, cut, prep arrangements, maintain, tag, and harvest; bedding plants, roses, perennials, herbs, vegetables, poinsettias, mums, hanging baskets, and various greenhouse plants; Workers will move plants, tables/benches, pallets, and palleted products weighing up to 60 lbs by utilizing farm equipment such as tractor, gator, skid steer and other farm equipment to perform farm tasks; Workers must able to use both motorized and unmotorized hand tools such as shovels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives; Worker may construct trellises, repair farm/greenhouse buildings, or participate in irrigation activities as well as applying herbicides and other field related tasks such as general maintenance and clean up, including removing trash and debris. If worker is eligible to drive under Michigan law, worker may drive employer provided vehicle to and from worksites and to other locations as directed.

Pay will be hourly.

Special Requirements

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general labor, greenhouse labor, seeding, planting, transplanting, watering, weeding, and harvest of horticultural products. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.

Experience Requirement: 3 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial agriculture or horticulture experience required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Drug testing done at employer's expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.

Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period.
