Job description
Duties may include: Prepare soil and growing media. Cultivate, plant, transplant, and irrigate aquatic and other plants. Use hoe, rake, and shovel, and other equipment to clean, repair, & maintain ponds and other growing areas. Use pickup & other equipment to haul, spread, rotate plants, supplies & equipment. Harvest plants from greenhouses, ponds, and other growing containers. Construct and repair growing tanks, ponds and equipment. Prepare plants for market by moving containers and wrapping. Clean, organize, maintain work areas and equipment. Label plants with botanical names. Other miscellaneous duties assigned & other related Nursery Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer. Employees are expected to keep employer-provided vehicles clean and free of trash. Workers may not post or remove notices, signs, or other instructions from the employers bulletin boards or the employers property without specific authorization from the employer.
