45-2091.00 - Agricultural Equipment Operators
Job Duties:
Operate and assist with agricultural harvesting equipment to support crop harvesting operations. Perform routine adjustments, calibrations, and safety checks using appropriate hand tools, and operate equipment in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. Drive high powered tractors and custom harvesting machines to harvest, swath, merge, chop and pack harvested commodities. Drive farm trucks with trailers (flatbed, belly dump, live bottom) attached to transport agricultural commodities, harvesting equipment, and tools between fields, storage locations, and worksites. Attach, secure, and disconnect equipment and implements; weigh trailers; and load and unload harvested crops in storage pits. Perform manual labor associated with harvesting activities, including pressure washing equipment, assisting with routine maintenance, and maintaining all equipment in a clean and serviceable condition, inside and out. Track and accurately report equipment hours on a daily basis. Employer will provide workers, at no cost, with effective means of communication, including two-way radios and CB radios, to ensure access to individuals capable of responding to workers’ needs in the event of an emergency.
A license is not required as a condition of employment under this job order. However, any worker that company trucks must possess a valid license for the class of vehicle being operated. Five months of recent and verifiable experience performing the duties described is required. Wage increases or bonuses may be available based on experience and merit at the employer's sole discretion. Applicants must be available for the entire contract period. Workers hired after the contract start date must be prepared to begin work at the employer’s current location and remain available for the duration of the work itinerary.
The employer may, at its sole discretion, pay workers a higher wage rate, but all workers will be guaranteed at least the rate of $15.67 for domestic workers and $13.83 for H-2A workers in Texas; $16.01 for domestic workers and $14.79 for H-2A workers in Oklahoma; $18.14 for domestic workers and $16.88 for H-2A workers in Kansas; $18.74 for domestic workers and $17.46 for H-2A workers in Missouri; and $20.02 for domestic workers and $17.84 for H-2A workers in Colorado.
A non-exhaustive list of factors the employer may consider when determining whether or not to pay a higher hourly rate include work performance, tenure, skill, and the worker’s disciplinary history.
Workers with 1-2 consecutive seasons of experience may be eligible to earn at least $15.79
Workers with 3-5 consecutive seasons of experience may be eligible to earn at least: $16.50
Workers with 6+ consecutive seasons of experience may be eligible to earn at least: $17.50
The employer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to pay a higher hourly wage to seasonal workers under this job order but guarantees all workers at least the following rates at all times:
Texas - $15.67 (Domestic) and $13.83 (H-2A)
Oklahoma - $16.01 (Domestic) and $14.79 (H-2A)
Kansas - $18.14 (Domestic) and $16.88 (H-2A)
Missouri - $18.74 (Domestic) and $17.46 (H-2A)
Colorado - $20.02 (Domestic) and $17.84 (H-2A)
Special Requirements
Five (5) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Employer requires all-newly hired employees to take and pass an employer-paid background check. All background checks are conducted uniformly after an initial job offer has been extended and accepted by the new hire. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers.
Employer-paid, post-hire, random, upon suspicion, and post-accident drug testing required. Operating tools and equipment as applicable and noted in the job description as well as operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is dangerous. Employer has a strict policy prohibiting drug use. Any worker who declines to take or fails a mandatory drug test will be terminated and paid for all hours worked, if any.
