Job description

We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn, wheat, sorghum, and soybean crop production season. Employees will perform all assigned duties related to crop production, including preparing fields for planting; attaching and operating farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, seed drills, planters, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; planting, cultivating, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, irrigating, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizer and pesticide solutions; installing, maintaining, and repairing pivot and portable irrigation systems, ditches, pipes, pumps, wells, and sprinkler systems; loading and unloading crops and materials manually or with conveyors, forklifts, augers, and hand trucks; adjusting and monitoring equipment to ensure proper operation and detect malfunctions; hauling crops, supplies, and tools using farm semi-trucks; recording required agricultural and production data; and performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and irrigation systems. Additional duties include inspecting, diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, fabricating, replacing, testing, lubricating, and reassembling mechanical and electrical equipment, machinery, vehicles, engines, plumbing, and structural components using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment; transporting tools and machinery to and from repair sites; maintaining accurate repair and maintenance records; and communicating with users to assess issues and determine appropriate repairs. The employer may provide pay increases based on performance, longevity, and/or experience, as well as discretionary performance bonuses at the end of the contract. The employer will conduct post-hire drug testing and criminal background checks at no cost to the employee; failure to pass a drug test or having a felony or theft-related criminal background may result in termination or disqualification in accordance with company policy and applicable law. The job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures; extensive pushing or pulling; prolonged sitting or walking; frequent stooping or bending; and repetitive movements, with no lifting requirement. A valid, regular driver’s license is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.

Special Requirements

The employer will conduct post-hire drug testing at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug-free workplace policy. Failure to pass a drug test will result in termination of employment. The employer will also conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ individuals with felony or theft-related criminal convictions, in accordance with workplace safety policies, company hiring practices, and applicable law. The position requires a minimum of three (3) months of related experience and involves exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures; extensive pushing or pulling; prolonged sitting or walking; frequent stooping or bending; and repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. A valid, regular drivers license is required.
