Job description
Duties may include: Assist with daily farm functions including but not limited to the following: Prepare soil: Dig, rake, and screen soil before seeding. Cut/mow established grass. Maintain farm equipment, load sod/crops onto trailers. Must have the ability to operate the sowing, seeding, mowing, and cutting equipment.
Possible weekend/holiday work.
Overtime Pay: As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a workweek will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. ESST(Earned Sick and Safe Time) Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time(ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year & other related Farmworker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 75lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified.Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal.
