Job description
Perform a variety of attending duties at amusement, recreation facility or traveling carnival. Collect tickets/fees, takes down rides using crescent wrenches to install nuts and bolts, operate/attend and maintain equipment/rides; games; make changes; assist patrons. Set up - stock/clean and ready for service, tear down equipment using crescent wrenches to remove nuts and bults, - pack up stock and close down booth, heavy lifting and physically mobile, operate games and amusement rides. Work would be performed by individual workers as members of a team, with some tasks being performed individually & some collectively. May include moving/positioning equipment/rides, maintenance such as painting equipment, and refurbishment of equipment by repairing, cleaning, and testing equipment. Teardown of equipment would simply be these duties being handled in the reverse order & items being stored & secured for transit to the next location.
Special Requirements
Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Work schedule is at least 5 days/week with shifts varying by day and work days varying by week to include Saturday and Sunday. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Must be 18 due to equipment use. Job takes place outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours. Employer is exempt from paying any overtime per Section 13(a)(3) of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for Seasonal Amusement and Recreational Establishments.
