Job description

***RFI Response***
The cooking responsibilities will resemble those of an entry level fast food restaurant cook.

These food items are then cooked using the equipment mentioned, and meals are assembled according to established procedures similar to how a fast food worker would for example, cook a piece of chicken, then place the chicken, a piece of lettuce, a tomato and mayonnaise onto a bun to assemble a chicken sandwich. These workers do the same but with chicken, rice and peas to create a “Jerk Chicken Plate”.

Maintenance of equipment will be simple and require no experience, training, or certifications to complete – this might look like tightening a screw that appears loose, scraping debris from a grill, or other incredibly simple and inherent maintenance that any fast food worker could expect to complete as an entry level employee. Transportation assistance is provided by loading equipment and supplies and items into a vehicle, then riding in a vehicle with other team members, and then unloading the equipment, supplies, and items once the vehicle arrives at the location where the equipment, supplies and items are needed.

***Original Duties***
The worker performs routine food service duties at mobile food carts and in a commercial kitchen environment that prepares cooks and sells Jamaican jerk cuisine, including taking customer orders, processing payments, preparing food, and maintaining cleanliness. Work is performed at various locations, including public spaces, temporary events, assigned service areas, and the kitchen.

Tasks include preparing and serving simple hot meals using basic food service equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, stoves, tumblers, and mixers. The worker helps with preparing meats and vegetables by washing, slicing, shredding, rubbing, or mixing ingredients as directed. Meals are assembled according to established procedures. No recipe development or advanced cooking is required.

The worker is responsible for setting up and breaking down the mobile cart at the beginning and end of each shift. This includes organizing supplies, stocking service areas, and cleaning work surfaces. During operations, the worker maintains sanitary conditions by wiping surfaces, washing utensils by hand, and ensuring food areas stay clean and safe. All cooking and cleaning tasks are completed following standard procedures. These duties are performed both at mobile cart locations and in the commercial kitchen. The worker may assist with transporting food, supplies, and equipment between the kitchen, service areas, and storage locations and mobile food carts and equipment must be kept clean and in good working order through regular washing, sanitizing, and light maintenance as needed.

This role does not include independent food preparation planning, menu creation, or supervising other workers as a standard function. Tasks are repetitive, guided by clear instructions and procedures, and suited for entry-level food service workers in both mobile and kitchen-based environments.

Special Requirements

NOT CHANGE "TRAINING" DURATION ABOVE.

WORKERS CAN EXPECT TO WORK 5-7 DAYS PER WEEK AND WORK SHIFTS OF 5-7 HOURS EACH SHIFT WITH EXACT SHIFT TIMES VARYING.
