Job description
In support of Head Chef and other cooks: wash and chop vegetables; clean and fillet fish; steam and pick lobster meat; assemble salads; wash, peel, and cut, various foods to prepare for cooking or serving; slice meats and cheeses; assemble charcuterie and cheese plates; make soups, stews, and sauces; fry, saute and grill meats, poultry and seafood at appropriate cook stations; store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage; prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, soups and desserts, according to supervisors’ instructions; occasionally clean and stack cookware and cooking utensils as needed to perform cooking functions, either by hand-washing or use of a dishwashing machine; keep work area sanitary. Rotating shifts, must be able to work holidays and weekends. 35 hrs/wk. Typical shift 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. Job is location on an island, accessible by ferry to Chebeague Island, Cumberland County.
