Job description
One temporary position opening. $1727.75 per month+ free food & mobile housing. Three quarter time guarantee. On call 24/7. Work tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no cost to the worker. Transportation & subsistence expenses to worksite provided by employer or paid by employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Must have 6 months experience and provide (1) reference from previous employer with knowledge of applicants skills. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Qualified applicants will have 6 months experience as a Range Livestock Worker with experience with cattle and sheep. On call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Performs a combination of the following duties on the range and will also perform duties on the ranch: Assure viable water sources, move livestock to forest permits and BLM land for summer range foraging. Report to rancher water, forage & weather conditions as well as wind & storm & changes in health conditions of cows and/or sheep. Administer minor medical care to sick/injured pregnant cows and ewes without causing undue stress when dealing with mothers. Must be able to ride and handle horses in the movement of livestock while assuring the safety of the worker, co-workers, livestock and horses. Maintain healthy hooves on horses. Assist with later stages of breaking & trailing horses. Assist with the maintenance of meadow lands & the repair of fences. Employee will work outdoors in all types of weather, high winds, extreme heat as well as predators. Must be willing to work under climatic conditions common to Wyoming. Workers must be willing to perform all duties according to the employer's requirements during the contract period. Majority of total workdays (51%) will be on the range beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or departure of worker from USA.
Special Requirements
The employer will provide workers compensation coverage for injury and disease arising out of and in the course of the workers employment and no cost to the worker and will be in effect not later than the beginning date of this job order.
The employer will provide at no cost to worker, a cell phone as an effective means of communicating with persons capable of responding to the workers need in case of an emergency. This devise may be used for emergency or business use only.
This may be substituted for other means if the conditions warrant. Worker will be directed and controlled by the ranch operator and/or designated foreman. However, workers are often required to work alone for long periods without supervision and to perform the required work reliably and properly. Three months prior experience as a general ranch worker and one satisfactory reference is required.
