Job description
Seasonal work to handpick blueberries according to color, ripeness, and firmness. Place berries into picking containers and carry filled containers to the dumper or weighing station. Sort blueberries by size, ripeness, and quality as directed. Stack, restack, and organize lugs, boxes, and containers on pallets or trailers. Perform basic farm tasks, including cleaning work areas by removing trash, sweeping, wiping surfaces, and sanitizing equipment. Perform simple field tasks, such as weeding, hoeing, raking, collecting debris, and performing basic irrigation repairs, under close supervision. Assist with planting or transplanting blueberry plants as directed. Follow all food safety and hygiene rules, including washing and drying hands before and after breaks and upon reentering the field. Work may occur in hot, cold, humid, wet, or variable weather conditions. Must handle, carry, and move materials and containers weighing up to 60 lbs. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job will be provided at no cost to the worker. Other related agricultural duties as assigned.
Special Requirements
The employer will conduct a drug test only if the employee is involved in a workrelated accident. Any such drug testing will be performed at the employers expense. If the worker fails the drug test or refuses to undergo drug testing following a workrelated accident, this will be considered probable cause for termination of employment.
