General Farmworker

Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Drive and operate self-propelled sprayer. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Clean and wash farm machinery. Help operate and maintain a grain cleaner. Maintain a clean farmstead.

Crop List: Durum; Canola; Lentils; Spring Wheat; Flax Seed; and Dry Peas

Equipment: Versatile 550 four wheel drive tractor; John Deere 1895 no till drill; Case Patriot 4420 sprayer; John Deere S680 combine; John Deere 9970 combine; John Deere 7410 front wheel assist tractor; John Deere 6150 front wheel assist tractor; Case 9250 four wheel drive tractor; Kenworth T800 semi; Kenworth T800 semi; and Freightliner semi.

Special Requirements

Extensive sitting. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of driving heavy equipment and trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post hire at employer's expense due to children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of (3) months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
