Job description
Duties may include: Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Cutting raking baling hay. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Worker will assist in hauling manure and using rock picker on land when needed, & other related Farmworkers, Farm, Ranch, and Aquacultural Animals activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 150lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment.Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal.
