Job description
Duties may include: Clean buckets used in fields and on farm, hoeing weeds, harvest chile, onions, and jalapenos by hand. Pick up equipment and load/unload vehicles with tools. Manage community water sources daily, as needed. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping by disposing trash, de-cluttering, and organizing equipment. Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Production standard: Minimum of 15 buckets of chiles per hour. Minimum of 2 bins of onions per hour. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 55lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Variable weather conditions may apply. Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer.
