Job description
Assist chefs with various tasks as needed and provide chefs with needed items, including ingredients, utensils, etc. Load dishes, glasses, and tableware into dishwashing machines. Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving. Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures. Duties may include washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, marinating, seasoning, breading, mixing, portioning, assembling, baking, grilling, frying, roasting, steaming, sautéing, and plating food items for service. The worker may also prepare sauces, dressings, batters, and dessert items as directed by the chef. The worker will use a variety of commercial kitchen equipment and utensils in the preparation and cooking process, including knives, cutting boards, mixers, food processors, blenders, slicers, grills, flat-top griddles, ovens, convection ovens, stovetops, fryers, steamers, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, warming stations, and temperature monitoring devices. Assist with serving food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required. Remove dishes and glasses from tables or and take them to kitchen for cleaning. Wash and sanitize dishes, equipment and works areas. Perform other similar, related tasks as necessary.
Special Requirements
No minimum education required. Experience must be verifiable. Must be available to work split-shifts, nights, weekends & holidays as needed. Minimum 35 hrs/week. Shifts and shift hours vary between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, 7 days per week. Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
