Job description

Captains will be responsible for setting up the dining room, taking and placing customers’ orders, carrying trays, serving food and beverages, greeting guests, and cleaning and clearing tables. Captains will also be responsible for handling member requests for dining and social events, takeout food orders, and confirming reservations on special events. Other duties will include preparing a variety of brochures, menus, letters, table numbers and posters, and also assisting with the creation and mailing of the weekly and monthly events newsletters. Will be responsible for answering phones and taking food orders and other requests from the members and will also be responsible for distributing and taking in UPS, DHL, and Federal Express packages for members. Supervisory duties include training employees; assigning and directing service work during a shift; consulting with management staff regarding rewarding or disciplining employees; and working with members to address complaints and resolve problems regarding food, beverage and/or service. Duties also include watching assigned tables under supervision to detect any issues and making adjustments by assisting Wait Staff in taking orders, serving, and clearing tables, and following up on tables to ensure member satisfaction. May supervise up to ten (10) Wait Staff.

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 7:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm to 11:00pm. Shift hours may vary.

Special Requirements

The Petitioner will consider for employment any person who possesses at least six (6) months of service experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, hotel, or private club.
