Job description

Temporary Seasonal Position: Farm Crop Supervisor | SOC Code: 45-1011-07

All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described & must be available for entire period.

RRR Farms, Salem, NM, Dona Ana

Possible shift: 7:00AM-7:00PM. 60+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Cotton, Chili Peppers, Pecans, Lettuce; various, Onions, Wheat. Duties may include: Direct and coordinate through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities of workers engaged in agricultural crop production. Directs and coordinates worker activities such as planting, irrigation, chemical application and harvesting. Coordinates growing activities with those of engineering, equipment maintenance, packing house and other related departments. Analyzes soil to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production. Inspects equipment to ensure proper functioning. Inspects orchards and fields to determine maturity dates of crops or to estimate potential crop damage from weather. Plans and directs development and production of hybrid plant varieties with high yield or disease and insect resistant characteristics. Purchase equipment, supplies, fertilizer and chemicals. Supervises employees. & other related Farm Crop Supervisor activities as per SOC/OES 45-1011-07 (onetonline.org). Must have 6 months Utility Tractor exp.Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 55lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.55lbs. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hrs may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hrs. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours.

Must be able to obtain a drivers license. Must be 18 years of age. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Possible background check post hire at employer's expense.
