Job description

Make and confirm room reservations; greet, register, and assign rooms to guests through the use of a computer; issue room keys; assist with bags/luggage when necessary; answer guests questions; establish forms of payment and verify guest’s credit; maintain records of room availability and guest accounts; post charges for rooms; review accounts and charges with guests during checkout process; compute bills; collect payments, cash handling and making change for guests; answer telephone calls; transmit and receive messages; and contact proper staff to report and resolve guest problems. Make and confirm marina (boat slip) reservations; record in marina logbook; process appropriate payments for marina guest check-ins. Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions. Post charges, such as those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls to rooms by using computers. Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary. Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning. Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts and conducting nightly audits. Clean and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and watering plants. Monitor guest refreshment area to ensure properly stocked at all times; replenish as needed.

Special Requirements

Rotating shifts: ; 8 am to 1 pm; 1 pm to 8 pm; 7 am to 3 pm and 3 pm to 11 pm. 36 hours. Possibility, but no guarantee of overtime. Must work weekends & holidays.
