Job description

DUTIES: Hand Harvested Crop: Green peppers, tomatoes, winter squash. Machine Harvested Crop: sweet corn, green beans. use corn wagon picking corn off of the machine and putting it in the bags. 62 ears per bag. Overhead Irrigation Lines: help operate irrigation. Clean Up in the Fall: clean up vegetables. Hand Weeding with Long Hoe.

HOURS VARY: 7am-4pm aprox 6 days per week. Each day start time and or end time may vary depending on scheduled orders that we receive from stores. Workdays will vary. Tuesday - Sunday, days may vary. Weekends required. One weekday between Monday-Friday will be available to workers as a day off.

ADDITIONAL HOURS: Additional, non-compulsory work may be offered, including on holidays. Additional compulsory hours may be required depending on harvest production.

MINIMUM WAGE RATE: Employees that produce under minimum standard production requirement will not qualify for piece rate, and will be paid by the AEWR. If employees production rate is above the AEWR, then they will be paid the higher piece rate amount.

PAY ASSURANCES: Employer offer the highest of the AEWR, the prevailing hourly wage or piece rate, the agreed-upon collective bargaining wage or the Federal or State minimum wage.

OVERTIME: May be provided at minimum base wage rate established.

WORKERS COMPENSATION: Employer guarantees to maintain coverage throughout the entire contract period. Workers must notify immediate foreman and/or supervisor in case of injury within 30 days. Workers Compensation is free of charge to employee.

COVID: Employer will comply with the most restrictive Covid-19 regulations including local, state and federal guidelines. A CDC-approved COVID Vaccine is required for workers staying in employer-provided housing ONLY. Workers staying in close quarters are susceptible to cross-contamination risk.

HOUSING: Provided at no charge to worker.

TRANSPORTATION: Employer will provide transportation to all worksite locations. See attached job order for any/additional worksite location(s). Workers are not required to use employer-provided transportation. Employer is not liable for the welfare of any worker who chooses their own means of transportation.

Special Requirements

EXPERIENCE: 3 Months

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift minimum of 65 lbs. Workers are provided a two-day break-in period to acclimate to the demands of the job. Workers must be physically fit to perform job duties without succumbing to excessive exhaustion after break-in period. Workers will be provided safety training and will be expected to handle tools/equipment safely and carefully so as to avoid crop damage and to protect the worker from potential injury. Extensive pushing, pulling, walking, lifting, standing, stooping, Must tolerate extreme temperatures. Must report to work sober. May be subjected to and must pass random, post-employment, employer-paid drug test. Workers under the influence of drugs or alcohol pose a safety threat to themselves and other workers and cause liability for the employer. Employer shall comply with all federal, state and local safety requirements.
