Job description
Instruct/train line cooks in the preparation of Thai and Japanese cuisine, including menu development. Prepare authentic Thai cuisine for service, including both raw and cooked sushi. Duties include chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces, ensuring that all culinary food preparation is produced according to the high standards for quality, visual appeal and consistency. Cook and train culinary staff on authentic preparation of menu items. Supervise the culinary department including line cooks and stewards during service; perform training, coaching of culinary staff; Develop/enforce effective culinary staff training, and motivational programs. Set up and break down cooking line, gathering all supplies needed to prepare meals. Cover, date and store all leftover re-usable products. Stock inventory and supplies. Clean up station & kitchen including, break down cardboard, sweep and mops floors, clean all pots, pans, flatware and utensils.
Special Requirements
Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. No education required. 1 year of experience required in the preparation of authentic Thai cuisine. Split Shift: 12:00pm - 3:00pm; 4:00pm 9:00pm. (Monday-Friday) Saturday work required when necessary.
