Job description

One (1) temporary, full-time, live-in nanny and household assistant is sought in St Paul, MN,
for the period October 1, 2022 to September 4, 2023. The successful applicant will provide
childcare to a 2-year-old child and domestic assistance to the family, including: ensuring the
safety of the child, helping to provide educational experiences deemed appropriate to the
child's development, preparing at least two meals per day for the child and for the whole
family when requested, dropping off and picking up the child from off-site activities, transporting
and accompanying the child for extracurricular activities, performing household
chores including organizing, cleaning, laundry, trash/recycling removal, grocery shopping,
dropping off and picking up dry cleaning.
The successful applicant will typically work 40 hours/week when both parents are in town,
from 9:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and 9:30am to 2:30pm Saturday. (Note: Typical work hours during the periods when one parent is
absent will be 7:30am-7:30pm Mondays to Fridays; 7:30am-12:30pm Saturdays; on call
overnight every day of the week.) During periods
when one parent is away on business travel (totaling up to three months over the entire period
of employment) the successful applicant will be asked to work additional and/or shifted
hours at nights and weekends as needed. Typical work hours during the periods when
one parent is absent will be 7:30am-7:30pm Mondays to Fridays; 7:30am-12:30pm Saturdays;
on call overnight every day of the week.
The successful applicant will be provided accommodation and full board in the family home
in St Paul, MN. The successful applicant is required to travel with the family to their second
home in Boston, MA (for approximately one month during the stated period of employment),
and on domestic and international professional travel (including to Pamplona, Spain,
for approximately two months during the stated period of employment). All expenses incurred
from travel with the family during the period of employment, including airfares,
ground transfer, room and board, will be provided by the employer.
24 months of experience as an in-home childcare provider is required. On-the-job training
will be provided to the worker as needed.
The successful applicant will be paid $20.80/hour, calculated weekly and paid every two
weeks. All deductions from pay required by law will be made by the employer. Health care
coverage will be provided, worth approximately $327/month. Four weeks of paid leave will
be provided. Two round-trip airfares from the successful applicant's current city of residence
will be provided. In the event that the employee terminates the contract after having
worked for at least 50% of the period of the contract, the employer will provide airfare to
the successful applicant's original city of residence. Subsistence costs accrued in transit to
the family's home at $14.00/day or up to $59.00/day with receipts will be reimbursed
within the Nirst workweek; and upon successful completion of the contract, or the completion
of at least 50% of the period of the contract, or dismissal by the employer before the
end of the period, the same will be reimbursed for costs accrued in transit from the family's
home to the successful applicant's city of residence. All visa, visa processing, border crossing
and other related fees, including those mandated by the government will be reimbursed
by the employer within the Nirst workweek. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to
perform the duties assigned will be provided by the employer without charge or deposit
charge to the successful applicant.
This position is exempt from FLSA overtime pay provisions due to it being a domestic livein
position.
