Job description

Job duties require receiving crop for drying and storage at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; shoveling grain that cannot be removed by automatic conveyor equipment; shipping grain out from the grain bins as required; and climbing vertical grain leg. Employees will operate equipment such as the grain bin facility itself, tractors necessary to the grain bin operation, pit augers, track hoe, semi trucks and trailers to ship out the crops. Manual duties include performing upkeep and clean up of storage locations to ensure that they are properly maintained; performing mechanical repair and maintenance around the grain storage facility; sweeping out grain bins; carrying augers in and out of grain bins; and transporting grain. Daily duties may vary depending on crop and weather. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, merit, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements

Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure a safe housing and work environment for all workers. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, or repetitive movements.
