Job description

Job Duties perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. Understand the importance of premier customer service and have a willingness to learn and incorporate The Sanctuary and Forbes service standards into all guest interactions. Must be highly engaged and articulate by greeting guests with genuine southern hospitality and creatively describing treatments. Expertly perform Swedish and Deep Tissue massages. Must also be able to, or be willing to learn, the following modalities: Hot Stone Massage, Maternity Massage, Foot Reflexology, Warm Bamboo Massage, A variety of additional body treatments. Maintain personal appearance and be willing to adhere to the resort’s grooming standards. Always be a team player and have the willingness to perform light side duties, including restocking products and linens. Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift while reaching, bending, and stooping as needed. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. across short-medium distances.

Minimum 35 hours per week up to 40 hours per week. Open 7 days a week. Shifts vary: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, 8:00 am – 4:00, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm, 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Hours and shifts may vary with occupancy.
Basic Wage Rate: $17.07
Piece-Rate: $35.35 to $112.35 per service depending on service provided. Each service is paid based on the associated time to complete the service and range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Customers may purchase enhancements to each service and include additional piece rate pay of $10.40 to $15.10 per enhancement.
Workers may perform different services at different piece rate wages during the same day/work week based on services provided. Employer guarantees the basic wage rate for all hours worked in any given work week when piece rate compensation does not make hourly wage equal/or exceed base rate of $17.07. Employer may increase wage based on experience, changes in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Pay received bi-weekly.
Overtime: Workers are required to clock-in and clock-out at the beginning and end of each shift and all productive and non-productive time will be counted towards determining eligible overtime wages when owed as well as ensuring that the worker is paid at or above the hourly guaranteed base rate of $17.07/hr. All piece rate wages are intended to cover productive and non-productive time. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a half of the regular rate after 40 hours per workweek. The regular rate will be computed by adding together total earnings for the workweek from piece rate earnings and all other sources, then dividing that number by the total hours worked in the workweek. If in a given work week the regular rate falls below the hourly guaranteed base rate, the regular rate will be the hourly guaranteed base rate and the employer will compensate for the difference between the regular rate and the hourly guaranteed base rate.

Special Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess a current South Carolina Massage & Bodywork License; be eligible for reciprocity for licensure in South Carolina, or have the ability to become certified as a Massage Therapist in the state of South Carolina. Must be able to work at least a 5-day schedule, including weekends and holidays as required. Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort. Post-Employment Criminal Background check is required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B. Applicants must complete an employment application.
