***RFI Response***
In connection with “maintenance of worksite and equipment”, please note that this term is part of a longer list of duties --“cleanup, sanitize, and maintenance of worksite and equipment.”
This specific job duty is included to entail daily cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining of the worksite and equipment in the crawfish processing room and around the crawfish plant. For example, crawfish processors use their hands to peel the crawfish and then place the peeled crawfish tails into a bowl which must be cleaned and sanitized daily after use. Maintaining the worksite and equipment would also include placing the bowls and other such equipment to dry in a way that would allow them to dry quickly and without maintaining moisture or building mold. A small scale is also used to weigh the processed/peeled crawfish in order to package them in 1 pound bags for sale and consumption. This scale must also be cleaned, maintained to avoid rust, and sanitized daily after use. Due to certain food safety regulations, the facility and equipment used during crawfish processing must be cleaned, sanitized, and maintained a particular way to ensure safety of our food supply. The maintenance of worksite and equipment listed is just routine cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining required during crawfish processing.
